A. No. This site belongs to Danny O'Harrow, the owner of a studio condo that is located at Sandpiper Cove in Destin, Florida. Return to Questions
A. No, the condo is approximately 150 yards from the beach. Sandpiper Cove has condos that are located on the beach but my condo is not one of the beachside condos. From the condo deck, you can see the Gulf of Mexico but the view is partially blocked by palm trees and other Sandpiper Cove condos.Return to Questions
Q. How many people will the condo accommodate?
A. The condo can accommodate four people. However, since there is no separate bedroom, I do not rent the condo to four adults or to a father and mother with two children older than 12 years old. This restriction is based on the sleeping accommodations. Since there is no bedroom privacy, couples may find this uncomfortable. Since one of the two queen beds is a sofa bed, older heavier children may find the sofa bed uncomfortable. Return to Questions
Q. I am a college student. Will you rent the condo to me?
A. The minimum age for renting the condo is 25 years old. Return to Questions
Q. I have a small dog or cat, can I bring my pet with me if I rent your condo?
A. No. Pets are not permitted. Sandpiper Cove has a policy of no pets. This helps keep the Sandpiper Cove common areas and beach clean. Return to Questions
Q. You indicate a damage deposit. Is the deposit part of the rent?
A. No. The damage deposit is separate and in addition to the rent. The damage deposit is deposited into my condo bank account. After you depart the condo, I have the maid service clean the condo and check for damage. If there is no damage, I mail a check from my condo account to you (normally within 14 days after your departure date). Return to Questions
Q. If I tell you I want to rent the condo, how do I make a reservation?
A. If you decide to rent the condo, complete your reservation with my reservation form at this web site. After receiving your reservation request, I place your name in my calendar and reserve the dates you want for five business days. You mail the damage/reservation deposit to me and I hold the reservation while waiting for your deposit. If I do not receive the deposit within five business days, your reservation is automatically canceled. After I receive your deposit, I either E-Mail you or call you to let you know I have received your deposit and I reconfirm your rental dates. If you prefer, you can use PayPal and your credit card to pay the deposit and the total rental amount. You do not need to be a member of PayPal to use your credit card but PayPal charges a 3.3% of the amount fee for the use of their service. Q. How do I receive the condo key and pay the rent?
A. The rent is paid in two payments. The first payment of one-half the total rent is due not later than 30 days prior to your check-in date. After I receive the first payment, I mail you a package containing the condo key, a letter of introduction to Sandpiper Cove's security so you can gain access to the complex, maps from your home to the condo, a list of restaurants in the area, a short rental agreement and two self-addressed stamped envelopes. When you receive this package, you sign the rental agreement and mail the agreement and the remaining rental payment back to me. After completing your vacation, you use the remaining envelope to mail the condo key back to me. After I receive the key, I mail your damage deposit to you (providing there is no damage). If you prefer, you can use PayPal to pay the deposit and the total rental amount. PayPal should be used if you submit a reservation request that is within 30 days of your check-in date. Q. Is there security at Sandpiper Cove?
A. Yes. Sandpiper Cove has a security fence around the entire complex. Sandpiper Cove has its own security force that patrols the complex 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Return to Questions
Q. When I arrive at Sandpiper Cove, how do I gain access to the condo?
A. As mentioned above, I mail you a Letter of Introduction. You present this Letter of Introduction to the Sandpiper Cove security guard at the main entrance. The security guard will check you into the complex by checking your identification, registering your check-in and check-out dates and which condo unit you will be using. The guard will place a parking decal in the front windshield that will indicate the unit you will be using and how long you will be on the complex. Q. How old and what type of amenities does your condo have?
A. The condo was built in 1983. I bought the unit new. The condo has 470 sq. ft. of carpeted, centrally air-conditioned living space. In the living room area there is a remotely controlled 27" T.V. with cable vision and a VCR. There is an iron and ironing board for touching up wrinkled clothing. The kitchen has everything a normal kitchen has including a full size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and garbage disposal. The kitchen also has pots and pans, dishes, a toaster, a coffemaker, and a microwave oven. The bathroom has an oversize tub and all bathroom linen. In 1996, the entire condo was upgraded with new carpet for the living room and new vinyl flooring for the kitchen and bathroom. The condo has a telephone but does not have beach towels and beach chairs. Return to Questions
