Q. What is the location of the chalet on Sugar Mountain?
A. The chalet is on the southeast side and at the top of Sugar Mountain. It is within walking distance (approximately 200 yards) from the Sugar Mountain Ski Resort chair lifts and ski slopes. Return to Questions
Q. How many people will the chalet accommodate?
A. The chalet can accommodate up to six people. The chalet has two bedrooms with queen size beds and a queen size futon in the living room. Return to Questions
Q. I am a college student. Will you rent the condo to me?
A. The person renting the chalet must be at least 25 years old. All occupants must be at least 18 years old. This restriction is imposed because of the hazards associated with the chalet's 30 foot high deck. EXCEPTION: Parents whose children are at least 16 years old and who will occupy the chalet with their children may rent the chalet. Return to Questions
Q. I have a small dog or cat, can I bring my pet with me if I rent your chalet?
A. No. Pets are not permitted inside the chalet at any time. Return to Questions
Q. You indicate a damage deposit. Is the deposit part of the rent?
A. No. The damage deposit is seperate and in addition to the rent. The damage deposit is deposited into our bank account. After you depart the chalet, the chalet is cleaned and checked for damage. If there is no damage, I mail a check from our bank account to you (normally within 14 days after your departure date). Return to Questions
Q. If I tell you I want to rent the chalet, how do I make a reservation?
A. If you decide to rent the chalet, call us, e-mail us, or select "reservation form" from the menu at the top of the page and complete a reservation form for the dates you want. We place your name in our calendar and reserve the dates you want. You mail the damage/reservation deposit to us and we hold the reservation for five days while waiting for your deposit to arrive in the mail. If we do not receive the deposit within five days, your reservation is automatically cancelled. After we receive your deposit, we either E-Mail you or call you to let you know we have received your deposit. Return to Questions
Q. How do I pay the rent and receive the chalet key?
A. There are two options for paying the rent. The first option is using personal checks and guaranted checks to make two payments. The first payment of one-half the total rent is due not later than 30 days prior to your check-in date and may be made using a personal check. After we receive the first payment, we mail you a package containing maps from your home to the chalet, a list of restaurants in the area, a short rental agreement and a self-addressed stamped envelope. When you receive the package, you sign the rental agreement and, not least than 14 days prior to your check in date, mail the agreement and the remaining rental payment back to us using a personal check. If preferred, the final rental payment may be made using guaranteed funds (certified check, money order, or cash) on arrival at the chalet. The second option is PayPal. You can use your credit card and pay the total rent using my PayPal page. There is a 3.2% handling fee if you use the PayPal option. When we receive the PayPal payment, we mail the package described above. After completing your vacation, the chalet owner will meet you at the chalet to inspect the chalet, pick-up the chalet key, and, if there is no damage, return your damage/reservation deposit. If you cancel or change your reservation within 30 days prior to your check-in date, the reservation deposit and one-half the rental amount is forfeited. Return to Questions
Q. Is there security at the chalet?
A. Yes. The chalet has an ADT security system installed. The system is disarmed just prior to your scheduled time of arrival on your arrival date. The system can provide security by rearming and disarming the system using a code number that will be provided to you in the rental package discussed above. After your scheduled departure date and time, the system automatically rearms using a different code number. Return to Questions
Q. Are their any other restrictions associated with renting the chalet?
A. This is a non-smoking chalet. Smoking is not permitted in the chalet at anytime. When there is snow on the roads and streets of Sugar Mountain, the Township of Sugar Mountain requires all vehicles on Sugar Mountain to be four wheel drive or to have snow tire chains installed on two wheel drive vehicles. I have two sets of snow chains available at the chalet. One set fits the following tire sizes: 225R14; P265/60R14; P275/60R14; P245/70R14; 8.55-15; 225R15; 230R15; 235R15; P265/50R15; P275/50R15; P245/60R15; P255/60R15; P265/60R15; P275/60R15; P255/65R15; P235/70R15; P245/70R15; P225/75R15; P235/75R15; P225/80R15; P235/60R16; P245/60R16. The second set of chains fits the following additional tire sizes: 5.60-13; P175/70R-13; AR70-13; 6.00-14; 155R-14. Return to Questions
Q. How old and what type of amenities does your chalet have?
A. The chalet was built during the summer of 2003. The chalet has three levels. The first level is a heated two-car garage. The 1500 square foot second and third level is centrally heated and has both hardwood and carpeted flooring. The second level contains the living/dining area, kitchen area, a bedroom with a queen size bed with adjoining closet and a bathroom with an adjoining laundry area. The laundry area has a full size washer and dryer and an iron with ironing board. In the living room area there is a remotely controlled 27" T. V. with 50 channel satellite television,VCR, DVD, and a freestanding propane gas fireplace. The kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal, toaster, coffemaker, pots, pans, and dishes. The master bedroom and bathroom are on the third level. The master bedroom has a 20" T. V. with 50 channel satellite television, an adjoining walk-in closet and master bathroom. The master bathroom has a shower with seat and a private toilet area. All linen is provided for the bathrooms and bedrooms. The kitchen, and all bedrooms have telephones installed. Return to Questions
